I believe that Ernest’s father was a great uncle to my father, Victorie Charette. We lived right on the corner of Maple and of course, Charette Hill. I left Fort Kent in 1960 and then our home was sold to a Cyr.
I have so many memories now that I watched this video. AMAZING history!!
I believe that Ernie might have bought the land for his shop from a Desjardin on Market St. ??? My grandfather Charett’e history is somewhat obscure to me. Their original home still existed when I left in 1960. I believe it was one of the few homes left that had been built with just wood, no nails, just wooden joints, etc.
