“Cajuns in World War II” is a presentation by scholar Jason Theriot on his research and oral history work with Louisiana Cajun World War II veterans. Much of the research featured in this presentation was published in his three-volume series, “To Honor Our Veterans: An Oral History of World War II Veterans from the Bayou County.” Introduced by Lisa Desjardins Michaud. Presentation by Dr. Barry Ancelet, professor of Modern Languages at the University of Southwestern Lousiana in Lafayette, Lousiana. Featured at a meeting of the Maine Acadian Heritage Council in Van Buren, Maine, Dr. Ancelet speaks about language and culture among the francophones of Louisiana, how they relate to the French heritage environments in Maine, and how they figure into multiculturalism more broadly.
